The Waterfront - Yelland Quay

Nature plays a key role at The Waterfront. Working closely with the RSPB, UNESCO Biosphere and Natural England, the redevelopment will provide a number of ecological enhancements and benefits, including dedicated heron platforms, bird screen protection, a bat roost building and associated dark corridors to mitigate disturbances to bats in the locality.

The former ash beds open space to the east of the site will be enriched to include new flora and fauna and cut grass paths based on the new management plan. With the inclusion of a number of water features, it is envisaged The Waterfront will seek to provide a haven for a multitude of different river and coastal birds and mammals.
